  • Can I sell courses created by me in ABARA AUTHOR?

    Yes, all courses created in ABARA Author are the author’s intellectual property and can be sold if no copyright and trademark infringements are caused from the author’s side.

  • How do I change the look and feel of my courses?

    Abara Author is customizable. Authors can select the colors to be incorporated into a course based on branding, type of course being designed, and learner preferences.

  • Does my team need training to use ABARA AUTHOR?

    No, the Abara Author tool is intuitive and easy to use. It works on a template-selection approach and we have wizards to guide you through some of the processes. Tutorials will soon be available on YouTube. For further assistance reach us at: support@abaraauthor.com

  • What kind of animation effects does ABARA AUTHOR sport?

    While synching slide elements, you can also add animation effects like fade-in, fly-in left, fly-in right, and grow.

  • Can I animate the complete slide?

    No, you can only animate objects present on the slide also known as slide elements.

  • How to add animations?

    First, you must synch slide elements with specific timestamps of the audio. Once done, you can now select animation effects for slide each element.

  • Can I add animation effects to slide elements?

    This feature is available with audio synching only. You can simply select the desired effect and add it into the slide of your choice.

  • Can I synch a single audio file with slide elements?

    Yes, you can synch slide elements with a single audio file. You can also add animation effects to slide elements.

  • What is the maximum file size for file upload?

    Do not exceed the following:

    • Images: 4 MB
    • Audio: 10 MB
    • Video: no limit
    • Documents: 10 MB
  • Which media sites can be embedded in a ABARA AUTHOR course?

    We currently only support a single YouTube link embedded into our video-based template. Vimeo link embedding is on our roadmap. Email us at: contact@abaraauthor.com  to know more.

  • Can I import documents or word files into ABARA AUTHOR?

    No, we do not have this feature. However, you can still add documents as reference materials for your learners as a part of the course.

  • Do ABARA AUTHOR courses support right-to-left languages?

    No, currently we do not support right-to-left languages.

  • Do ABARA AUTHOR courses support left-to-right languages?

    Yes, Abara Author supports 3 default left-to-right languages which are English, Hindi, and Marathi. More left-to-right languages can be added on request.

  • How can I select translated languages?

    You can select more languages over the default 1 language from the Language drop-down in Settings tab.

    1. Toggle Single language switch to Multiple.
    2. A language drop-down will be displayed.
    3. Select the language you want to choose for the course.
    4. Click, Add Language button to add the language for the course.
    5. Hit Save.
  • Can I ask for customizations to the ABARA AUTHOR tool?

    You can definitely request for a new feature through our Submit New Feature panel.

    However, we do not guarantee the implementation of your request. Abara Author reserves the right to select the upcoming features based on the product roadmap.

  • Can I download source files of my courses on to my desktop?

    No, you cannot download the source file on desktop.

    You can however download SCORM compliant versions as a zip package on your desktop. But it can only be view when in an LMS and not on the desktop.

  • Can I transfer my course to authors from other teams?

    No, you cannot transfer courses to authors outside the portal. Only registered authors on your plan can access and edit courses.

  • Does ABARA AUTHOR have a course backup option?

    No, currently we do not have a course backup option. However, it’s a part of our roadmap.

Pricing

  • How many templates do I get access to?

    All plans get the same number of templates. Currently we have 15 templates available and more are being added.

  • What happens if I run out of storage?

    Contact us to increase storage space for your portal. This is a chargeable service.

  • Can I transfer a course to a secondary author in a Basic Plan?

    No, share and transfer features are available for Silver, Gold, and Platinum Plans only.

  • Can I ask for customizations to the ABARA AUTHOR tool?

    You can definitely request for a new feature through our Submit New Feature panel.

    However, we do not guarantee the implementation of your request. Abara Author reserves the right to select the upcoming features based on the product roadmap.

  • Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan at any time?

    You can upgrade your plan any time. However, you cannot downgrade your plan till the existing tenure ends.

  • How much storage space do I have for ABARA AUTHOR courses?

    Storage space is provided based on the plan you select. The total available space is displayed in your Site Settings tab.

  • Will I get charged for additional features that are a part of the ABARA AUTHOR update?

    There is no charge for additional features rolled out in your plan. However, if you want to access additional features implemented in the plan above yours, you will have to upgrade your plan.

  • What are the costs to upgrading my plan in the middle of an existing tenure?

    When switching to a higher plan, you will be charged with the difference amount on a pro-rata basis.

  • Can I upgrade from an existing plan to a new plan in the middle of my tenure?

    Through the My Plan Details tab available in your portal, you can change the existing plan and upgrade to a new plan during your existing tenure. Once your plan is upgraded, you will not be able to downgrade it again.

  • What plans are currently available?

    We are currently offering four plans:

    • Basic
    • Silver
    • Gold
    • Platinum

Registration

  • How many days is the activation link valid for?

    The activation link sent to your registered email address is valid for 14 days.

  • How do I activate my account?

    After you register, a link will be sent to your registered email address. Click the link to activate your account. You’ll be prompted to enter new password for your portal. Enter your new password and click Activate. You’ll receive an email with portal details.

  • Where will I get the activation link?

    A link will be sent to your registered email address upon registering.

  • How many days will my free trial last?

    Currently, we are offering the free trial for 15 days.

  • How do I initiate a free trial?

    Click here and you will be redirected to the free trial page. There, you are required to fill a form with relevant and active information upon which a link will be sent to you registered email address.

General

  • Do I have to develop a new version to fit screens on multiple devices?

    No, Abara Author tool is based on responsive web design principles. You do not need to develop a course for every device or screen size. Abara Author courses automatically fit into the target device’s dimensions.

  • How many themes do I get access to?

    All plans get the same number of themes. Currently we have 8 themes available and more are being added.

  • What are Advanced Assessment Settings in the pricing plan?

    An author can group questions based on topics and create question banks ranging from simple to complex. This feature is available for Silver, Gold, and Platinum Plan holders only.

  • What file types are supported as course attachments?

    ABARA Author supports DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX or PDF file formats as course attachments or reference materials for learners.

  • Can I add copyrights and disclaimer tabs to the embedded videos and content?

    Currently, we do not support this option. Hence, authors are required to ensure the content and media used are completely theirs or add notes at the bottom of the page giving full credit to the original owner.

  • Are ABARA AUTHOR courses compliant with accessibility guidelines?

    We have basic or partial accessibility guidelines in place for Abara Author courses. Further accessibility options and features are on our roadmap. Please contact contact@abaraauthor.com to know more.

  • Can ABARA AUTHOR courses be translated into other languages?

    Yes, Abara Author allows authors to choose multiple language outputs, which are then populated by the author with the translated course content and saved. Abara Author then maintains a single copy of the course with multiple language settings. Learners can access these courses and then then select their preferred language from the drop-down which is accessible by clicking the Settings link in the Language tab.

  • Can ABARA AUTHOR courses be downloaded for offline viewing?

    No, Abara Author courses are not available offline. All Abara Author published courses can be published in a SCORM compliant package and are only viewable on an LMS.

  • Can I transfer a course to a secondary author in a Basic Plan?

    No, share and transfer features are available for Silver, Gold, and Platinum Plans only.

  • Can ABARA AUTHOR courses be published to work on web browsers?

    Yes, they can be published for web browsers. All Abara Author courses can be published to generate a web link. This link can be distributed to reviewers and is valid for a short duration based on the plans you’ve chosen.

  • Is there a limit for transferring courses to other authors?

    There is no limit to transferring courses to other authors. You can transfer as many courses to as many authors as you wish, provided the number of authors fall under either the limit set by the Silver, Gold, or Platinum Plans.

  • Can I transfer an entire course to other authors?

    Yes. Abara Author allows authors to share a link which grants other authors access to the course. This is possible under the share function of the tool. One author can share this link with another to grant them access to the course. However, the number of authors depends on the pricing plan selected.

    Transferring a file is easy. Here is how:

    1. Select the author to whom you would like to transfer the course.
    2. Click the Transfer button and add transfer notes.
    3. Click the Confirm Transfer button.

     

    This feature is available for team plan holders only.

  • How many authors can log into ABARA AUTHOR at a time?

    Only one author can sign in with the registered username and password. This is the standard setting and no more than one author can access the tool at once.

  • Can I import PowerPoint slides into ABARA AUTHOR?

    No, you cannot import PowerPoint slides in Abara Author. You can attach it to your course as a shareable resource though.

  • Where can I find tutorials on how to use ABARA AUTHOR?

    We are currently working on creating a set of videos which will be available on YouTube soon!

  • Are ABARA AUTHOR courses responsive?

    All the Abara Author courses are based on a responsive design framework. Courses developed in Abara Author fit the user’s screen size, platform, and orientation. All our templates are fully responsive. Refer to the technical specifications mentioned under system requirements for authoring and system requirements for viewing.

  • Why is ABARA AUTHOR simple to use?

    Abara Author has a simple intuitive interface which lets you create courses by selecting your pre-designed eLearning templates. Abara Author lets you create your course content in a jiffy.
